Quick update from Albuquerque

Just a little heads up, before we start the July 4th celebrations: We’ve now gotten ourselves through Texas and up into New Mexico, where we’re currently staying in Albuquerque. It’s a city the size of Oslo, and Stefan, Cameron and Erlend are testing out the nightlife. Those of us who stayed behind, went to the 24 hour open Walmart to secure the water supply for the next days.

We’re not quite sure what we’ll do tomorrow, there’s some Rodeo in Grants, but we’ve been told the town is nothing to speak of. There’s also a village called San Ysidro (pop. 238) that will host a rodeo competition. Both are about one hour drive away, so who knows what we’ll do.

    We’re now back at the motel from our night out – and the nightlife in Albuquerque was pretty good, though they closed everything down way too early (2 am…). We had some trouble getting in to the pub because of our Norwegian ID’s – and then when we finally got in they threw us out again because we seemed drunk (but we hadn’t been drinking yet – they just didn’t understand our accent…). When we finally got in we had a really good time 🙂

    Welcome to ABQ. I saw your shirts at CPK last night and I think that is an awesome Road Trip! I hope you enjoy Albuquerque. Did you take the Tram up to the top of the mountain? Its 11,000 high and alot of fun.

    I just saw your post about going to Grants. I would not recommend it. If you want to travel, Maybe visit Santa Fe, It the oldest city in the US and very fun.
