The origins of RoadTrip09 rather interestingly lie in the planning of our summer activities for the year of 2008. That year we were forced to forego any plan for major holidays as exams and employment schedules collided with our eagerness to explore the world. How the idea of roadtripping the USA in 2009 came about can be witnessed by studying excerpts from a Facebook group created in the spring of 2008.

Amidst growing frustrations that we wouldnt be able to sort any holidays out for that summer; more radical ideas came forth. These next four posts on the wall in early May are truly the birth of RoadTrip09.

Simen even retracted his earlier worries about his financial situation.

I take back what I said about my financial situation, this trip is definitely going to happen! My personal wishes include Las Vegas, California, San Francisco and New York. I think I will get to see enough of Florida visiting Martine next year.

From this point on we have never looked back.
